BGMEA, CMP cell visit garments factories

CHITTAGONG, Jun 4: Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) and high officials of Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) coordination cell visited a number of garments factories based in the port city as a part of an observation programme to see for themselves the actual position of the readymade garments (RMG) industries to devise a strategy to avert untoward incidents in the sector.
As the RMG products fetch major portion of foreign currency and thus make significant role towards uplift of the national economy, CMP-BGMEA coordination cell called for preserving disciplined atmosphere inside the garments factories.
Deputy Commissioners of CMP on behalf of CMP Additional Police Commissioner Abdul Jalil Mandal and BGMEA leaders visited the garments factories at different areas of the port city.
