BGMEA decides to install UD software

Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) has decided to install UD software at offices of all its members to ensure dynamism and transparency and also reduce costs, reports BSS.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the BGMEA member garment industry owners in the BGMEA auditorium in the city Thursday.
BGMEA President Abdus Salam Murshedy presided over the meeting while its Vice-President Shafiul Islam (Mohiuddin), Director Shahidullah Azim and UD Automation Committee Chairman Minhajul Islam spoke on the occasion.
Through installation of the UD software, it would be possible to create an archive of UD information at the BGMEA office.
If needed, the BGMEA will organise training for its members on use of the software.
The meeting also discussed introduction of B2B Webportal for readymade garments industries. It would work as a virtual global market place for suppliers of garments and accessories, buyers and backward linkage companies.
Besides, readymade garment entrepreneurs and buyers of garment products, banks, insurance companies, hotels and shipping agencies will also benefit from the web portal.
UD, a high-performance computing (HPC) system management and data centre automation software, simplifies the complexity of deploying and operating HPC and the data centre environment, saves customers' time and resources.
