BGMEA-GTZ venture holds workshop on occupational safety

CHITTAGONG, Apr 15: Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters' Association (BGMEA) Chittagong and German Technical Co-operation (GTZ) jointly arranged a daylong training workshop titled 'Occupational Safety and Health' at a hotel in the city Monday.
A total of 31 officials of different garment industries based in Chittagong took part in the workshop.
Speaking on the occasion, BGMEA Director and BGMEA-GTZ Project Director Mohammad Farhat Abbas stressed on developing working atmosphere at the organisations and enhancing awareness on the matters relating to physical safety.
He termed the training workshop as a time-befitting one and advised the participants to implement the gathered knowledge in their respective working places.
Later, he distributed certificates among the participating garment officials and thanked German Technical Co-operation for extending co-operation for holding the workshop.
GTZ Training Co-ordinator Khawza Saifullah conducted the programme.
