Bhasantek Beel

Bhasantek Beel, one of the largest waterbodies under the Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), is almost gone. With the construction of the Matikata Road, sand-filling of the beel area started at a fast pace. Commercial and residential high-rise buildings are now occupying most part of the waterbody.
