BHBFC earns Tk 1.65b net profit in last FY

Bangladesh House Building Finance Corporation (BHBFC) earned a net profit of Tk 1.65 billion (165.03 crore) in the fiscal 2007-08, which was more than Tk 296.7 million of the previous fiscal.
This came at the 319th meeting of the board of directors of the BHBFC at its head office in the city recently, said a press release.
The board approved the external audit report of the corporation for the fiscal 2007-2008.
The status of loan recovery, particularly recovery from classified loan has improved significantly in the fiscal. The present rate of classified loan has come down to 13.95 per cent.
In the fiscal 2007-2008, the BHBFC maintained the required provision. The corporation paid an amount of Tk 311.1 million as income tax for the fiscal 2007-2008.
In the FY, the total assets of the corporation have increased to over Tk 30.74 billion (3074.48 crore).
Its revenue income has increased by 5.90 per cent in the same fiscal.
