BHBFC gets new chairman

Md Yeasin Ali has been appointed the chairman of the board of directors of Bangladesh House Building Finance Corporation (BHBFC). Mr Ali started his banking career after obtaining M.Sc in Agricultural Economics. He rendered his services for the last 40 years in Bangladesh Krishi Bank, Agrani Bank Limited, Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank, Rupali Bank Limited, Bangladesh Shilpa Bank (now BDBL) and Dutch Bangla Bank Limited. Mr Ali attended a number of courses and training programmes related to banking and financial management at home and abroad. -Statement UCB directors join FIDE in Kuala Lumpur A high level team comprising directors of United Commercial Bank (UCB) Limited visited Kuala Lumpur recently to attend a workshop on Financial Institutions Directors Education (FIDE). Malaysian Central Bank, Bank Negara, sponsored the meeting. The directors are Vice Chairman Showkat Aziz Russell, Executive Committee Chairman MA Sabur, directors Bazal Ahmed, Kazi Enamul Hoque, Nur Uddin Javed and Shabbir Ahmed. The UCB directors also held a meeting with Bangladesh Bank Governor Dr Atiur Rahman who was there for attending OIC Central Bank Governors Conference. Dr Atiur praised the UCBL for sending its directors in such a meeting. Among other, Harvard Prof Dr Nabil and Dr Youssef and BRAC EPL Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Khaled Yusuf Farazi were present at the meeting. -Statement
