Bhutan urges BD businessmen to invest in hydropower

Bhutanese High Commissioner Pema Choden Monday urged Bangladeshi businessmen to invest in hydropower and agriculture sector in Bhutan, reports BSS.
"Bangladeshi investors will be benefited through selling power to other countries along with India under Free Trade Agreement (FTA)," she said, while talking with Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu at his office in the city.
The envoy sought cooperation of the industries minister for encouraging interest of Bangladeshi entrepreneurs to invest in Bhutan.
Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu and Bhutanese envoy discussed bilateral issues while Pema appreciated Bangladesh government for development of socioeconomic sector.
During the meeting high officials of Bhutanese High Commission and Industries Ministry were present.
Referring Bhutan as the historic friend of Bangladesh, Amu said Bangladesh is interested to work with the friendly country Bhutan.
The minister assured the Bhutanese high commissioner saying he will promote businessmen to invest in Bhutan.
