BIAA delegation returns home from Kunming

A ten member delegation of Bangladesh Indenting Agents' Association (BIAA) led by its President Shabbir Ahmed Khan returned to Dhaka Monday from Kunming, China after attending the 5th China South Asian Business Forum and 18th Kunming Export Import Fair.
The opening session of the business forum was held at Yunnan Convention Centre. Minister for Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperation of Bangladesh Syed Ashraful Islam, China Council for Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Chairman Wan Jifei, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of China Zhang Zhijun, SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Annisul Huq, Minister for Commerce and Industry of Afghanistan Ghulam Mohammad Aylaqi and Deputy Minister for Economic Development of Maldives Ali Rashed Hussain spoke, among others, at the session.
Two parallel sessions were heldon the same day. In the 2nd session, BIAA President Shabbir Ahmed Khan presented a keynote paper on "Finance Cooperation And Reciprocal Collaboration Among Entrepreneurs". His address received appreciation from the audience. Noted speakers in this session were presidents and chairmen of trade bodies and chambers of China, India, Pakistan, Nepal, Bhutan and Sri Lanka.
A cooperative meeting between Chinese and South Asian chambers was held in the afternoon where BIAA president was the only Bangladeshi representative to attend.
Shabbir Ahmed was also appointed member of the Advisory Council for China South Asia Business Forum. The certificate of the appointment was presented by Executive Vice Governor of Yunnan Province Luo Zhengfu.
Other members of the advisory board are SAARC Chamber and FBCCI President Annisul Huq, former SAARC chamber president Tariq Sayeed, former SAARC chamber president Macky Hasim, Centre for Promotion of India China Cooperation Chairman MK Saharia, Afghanistan International Chamber of Commerce Chairman Azarakhsh Hafizi, Bhutan Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chairman Togyal Dopji and Nepal China Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chairman Rajesh Kazi Shrestha.
The BIAA delegation also called on CCPIT Chairman Wan Jifei. In the meeting, he briefed on the role and activities of BIAA. Wan Jifei appreciated BIAA's role and sought cooperation of BIAA in promoting similar activities in all provinces of China for growth of trade. He also invited BIAA members to visit CCPIT head office in Beijing and also other provinces. He assured all cooperation in this regard.
