The Bangladesh International Arbitration Centre (BIAC) handed over certificates recently to the participants of a five-day training on mediation and negotiation held in India in March, says a press statement.
A meet & greet session was also held with the certificate giving ceremony at the BIAC Secretariat office in the city.
The training programme on 'International, Cross Cultural, Civil & Commercial Mediation and Negotiation' was jointly organised by the BIAC and the Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA) under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs from March 25 to 29 in Delhi.
Director General and Chief Executive Officer of IICA Gyaneshwar Kumar Singh inaugurated the training programme.
Chairman of BIAC Mahbubur Rahman and CEO of BIAC Muhammad A. Rumee Ali were also present at the inaugural ceremony.
Thirty-one participants from government organisations, banks, corporate houses and legal practitioners of Bangladesh participated in the training.
The IICA sent the results to BIAC on June 16. All the participants have successfully completed the training with good scores and have qualified to apply to become a mediator of BIAC.
Fifteen out of 31 participants, including representatives from Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission, City Bank, IDCOL and the legal fraternity, were present in the meet & greet session.
They received certificates of successful completion of the training from BIAC.
Besides, a discussion on BIAC's plan to initiate membership of BIAC was also held during the session.
