BIBM workshop on 'IT Readiness of Banks for Business in Cyber Space' ends

A day long workshop on "IT Readiness of Banks for Business in Cyber Space" was organized by the Bangladesh Institute of Bank Management (BIBM) on July 06, 2010. Twenty-eight senior and mid-level executives from different banks and financial institutions participated in the workshop. Director General Dr. Bandana Saha inaugurated the workshop. The workshop was designed to discuss the issues relating to National ICT Infrastructure, ICT Infrastructure of Banks, Cyber laws, Information Security, ICT Act, ICT Policy and ICT Guidelines of Bangladesh Bank for Commercial Banks of Bangladesh. The participants actively discussed these issues and presented their viewpoints on IT Readiness of Commercial Banks of Bangladesh and also suggested some measures to develop IT Readiness of Banks of country in line with the development of global market.
The workshop key-note paper was presented by Md. Shihab Uddin Khan, Associate Professor, Md. Mahbubur Rahman Alam, Assistant Professor and Kazi Baha Uddin, Lecturer of BIBM and they also jointly coordinated the workshop. All the Faculty Members of BIBM were present at the workshop. Ms. Nazneen Sultana, Executive Director, Bangladesh Bank and Mr. Monitur Rahman, Country Technology Manager, Standard Chartered Bank were present as expert resources in the group presentation and open discussion session. Ms. Nazneen Sultana, Executive Director, Bangladesh Bank distributed certificates among the participants at the concluding session of the workshop.
