Wednesday, 22 June 2022

Pabna Zila Bidi Mojdur Union formed a human chain to press home their four-point demand, including the enactment of a law for protecting the workers employed in bidi factories, says a press release.
Around 200 bidi workers took part in the programme held in front of the Pabna Deputy Commissioner's office on Monday.
Other demands include increasing the price of low-quality cigarette and withdrawal of 10 per cent advance income tax on bidi.
The union leaders also handed over a memorandum to the prime minister through the deputy commissioner.
Leaders of the organisation Abdur Rahman, Nazim Uddin, Harik Hossain, Abdul Gafur and Shamim Islam spoke at the human chain programme.
