Bids invited for 150mw dual fuel power plant

State-owned joint venture firm BPDB-RPCL Powergen Ltd has invited bids from international companies to build a 150 megawatts (mw) capacity dual fuel power plant on turnkey basis at Kodda near the capital, a senior official said.
The proposed power plant will have to generate electricity using both natural gas and furnace oil, he said.
The joint venture firm has already started selling tender documents and the documents will be available until January 01, 2012.
Last date for bid submission is January 02, 2012.
Bid winner of Kodda power plant will be responsible for engineering, design, manufacturing, inspection, supply, installation, erection, testing and commissioning of the plant on turnkey basis.
It will have to complete commissioning of the power plant within 450 days of signing contract.
Source of fund for the power plant project will be either supplier's credit or buyer's credit.
Tenders will only be considered from internationally reputed firms or consortia that are engaged and experienced in similar works.
The tenderer himself or a member of consortium having minimum 20 per cent stake must have experience in complete design, manufacturing, supply, erection, installation, testing and commissioning and putting into commercial operation of power plants having capacity of 100 mw or higher during the last 10 years, which is located outside the own country of the tenderer or consortium partner and has been in continuous commercial operation for minimum two years.
