BIFFL racks up Tk 1.41b in post-tax profits

The Bangladesh Infrastructure Finance Fund Limited (BIFFL), a state-run financial institution, held its 4th annual general meeting (AGM) on Saturday at a city hotel.
In the Financial Year 2014, the company earned Tk 1.41 billion (141.68 crore) in profit after tax and the EPS stood at Tk 8.85, the company said in a statement.
The accumulated profit over the year was Tk 3.54 billion. The shareholders approved Tk 100 million as cash dividend and Tk 3.4 billion as stock dividend to the government against shareholding, leading to the company's paid-up capital to Tk 19.40 billion.
Established in 2011, the BIFFL has been working for financing infrastructure and public-private partnership (PPP) projects aiming to facilitate infrastructure development in the country.
The organisation has already financed power, health and environment-friendly sectors in the country.
Mahbub Ahmed, chairman of BIFFL and enior secretary of the Finance Division, presided over the meeting. Other directors and shareholders Suraiya Begum, secretary of the PMO, M.A.N Siddique, secretary of the Road Transport and Highways Division, Md. Abubakar Siddique, secretary of the EMR Division, Khandker Anowarul Islam, secretary of the Bridges Division, A.R.M Nazmus Sakib, additional secretary of the Finance Division (TDM) and Executive Director and CEO S.M Formanul Islam, company secretary Mohammad M. Khan and other officials of the company attended the meeting.
