Big consignment of contraband drugs seized

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel in separate drives seized a large consignment of contraband drugs in Charghat Upazila in Rajshahi district on Saturday afternoon. Additional director Kamrul Hasan, acting commanding officer of BGB Battalion-37, said a BGB patrol team conducted an anti-smuggling drive in Gopalpur Padmarchar area and recovered 390 bottles of Phensidyl in an abandoned condition in the afternoon. Meanwhile, a team of the border force in another drive recovered 472 bottles of the contraband syrup and 180 ampoules of Indian sedative injection from Yusufpur Padmarchar area almost at the same time. However, no arrest was made as the smugglers managed to flee the scene sensing the presence of the border force, according to a news agency.
