Biggest action in Sundarbans: 2 pirates killed

BAGERHAT, Nov 12: Two suspected pirates were killed in a gunfight with joint forces of RAB and Coast Guard at Nishankhali in Dakope Upazila of Sundarbans west division Saturday, reports UNB.
The deceased were identified as Masum (30), a close associate of notorious pirate gang of Raju Bahini, and Abdul Mannan (38), the ring leader of pirate gang of Mannan Bahini.
It was the biggest combined operation so far of RAB and Coast Guard with 350 members of the elite forces taking part in the raid at the den of Raju Bahini at Nishankhali in the deep forest of Sundarbans, 100 kilometres off Mongla port, said Director (Media) of RAB Commander Sohail. He said the forces in 11 vessels cordoned off the pirates' den and carried out the operation.
