Bike racing on Thakurgaon roads

Motorbike is a useful vehicle for moving quickly in Thakurgaon city. But young motorcyclists often engage in a race with their vehicles on different roads of this town. Their tendency to reckless driving, violating traffic rules and overtaking other vehicles is dangerous. The speed at which these motorcyclists are riding bikes is unprecedented and dreadful. These races are not only risking their own lives, but also threatening the lives of other people on the roads. Many times, we come across news about bikers hitting pedestrians while driving their bikes. The practice of betting among the young motorcyclists is fuelling this dangerous trend of bike race. This often results in serious road accidents and consequently casualties in Thakurgaon.
We urge the authorities concerned to take action to put a complete stop to motorcycle racing in Thakurgaon. This will reduce the frequency of accidents. Lives of both the daring bikers and others on the road, including pedestrians must be protected.
