Billal Hossain wins bronze medal

Billal Hossain, the lone Bangladeshi participant in the 10th Asian Wrestling Championship, won the bronze medal in the 97-kg weight category of the meet held in Kazakhstan, reports UNB.
A two-member Bangladesh team, comprising lone wrestler Billal Hossain and official cum Bangladesh Amateur Wrestling Federation vice president FM Iqbal Bin Anwar Dawn, represented the country in their first appearance in the Asian Wrestling Championship.
The bronze medal winner Billal Hossain said: "I am very happy to win bronze medal for Bangladesh in my first appearance in the heavyweight Asian meet.
"I express the hope wrestlers will bring good result for the country in future if they will get long term training and international exposure," he added.
Leading wrestling Asian countries including Japan, South Korea, Thailand, Pakistan, India, Bangladesh and hosts Kazakhstan participated in the meet.
The organisers of the Asian Wrestling Championship bore the entire expenses of Bangladesh team while RB Group (Walton) sponsored sports gear for the Bangladesh wrestler.
