Biman accepting credit card for reservation

Biman Bangladesh Airlines has upgraded its reservation system by accepting credit card in its Internet Booking Engine (IBE) effective from today (Thursday), reports UNB Though IBE was introduced to its reservation system on November 1 last year, passengers could not pay the ticket price through internet in absence of a payment gateway for the airline, says a Biman statement. Kasikorn Bank of Thailand will now act as the Payment Gateway for Biman and the two parties signed an agreement in this regard few months back to facilitate the job. Passengers will be able to purchase Biman ticket online charging VISA and Master Card only. Internet Booking Engine (IBE) is an application which helps the travel and tourism industry, packages, insurance and other services online. This is a much needed application for the aviation industry as it has become one of the fastest growing sales channels. The real value of an IBE is in the business rules and process that package the content and provide the capability to shop and purchase. This includes packaging and pricing rules, customised displays for different customers and channels business rules and check out and payment. With the introduction of Internet Booking Engine, the airline, at long last has been able to make direct exposure to customers. The IBE will help Biman cut off extra expenses and support instant booking and payment.
