Biman Bangladesh Airlines kept themselves very much alive in the title race of the Metropolis Premier Division Cricket League registering their 6th win beating Kolabagan KC by 63 runs in the day's lone 7th round match at the Narayanganj Osmani Stadium (NOS) Tuesday, reports UNB.
With this result, Bangladesh Biman moved up to the 2nd slot jointly with another title contender Abahani Limited both securing 13 points from seven matches. Mohammedan SC is currently enjoying supremacy in the point table bagging 14 points from seven matches.
Coin-favoured, Bangladesh Biman batted first to pile up 243 for 8 in the stipulated 50 overs with all-rounder Mosharraf Hossain Rubel topscoring 75 off 92 balls with the help of five boundaries.
Another spinning all-rounder Alok Kapali contributed a handsome 40 off 49 balls featuring three fours and a six while skipper Sanwar Hossain 35, opener Nafees Iqbal 24, Nabil Samad not out 12, national pacer Mashrafe Bin Mortaza 12 were the other notable scorers.
In reply, Kolabagan KC could manage 180 for all in 45.5 overs with Pakistani recruit Shahbaz Butt contributing innings highest 72 off 103 balls that included six fours and a six while Hannan Sarker came up with a handy 33 off 48 balls clubbing four boundaries.
