The employees of Biman Bangladesh Airlines will observe a work abstention programme from 9.00am to 5.00pm on August 6 at the Biman headquarters in Uttara in the city to press home their 14-point-demand. Biman Sramik League president Moshiur Rahman earlier announced the 8-hour work abstention for Wednesday (Aug 6) from a sit-in-programme in front of 'Balaka Bhaban', the national flag carrier's HQs on Thursday. Moshiur Rahman also threatened to go for a tougher movement if their demands were not met by this time. Several hundred Biman employees took position in front of Balaka Bhaban around 9.00am, which ended around 12.00pm. The Biman employees' demands include introduction of uniform allowance for them, providing dearness allowance and cent per cent medical allowance, changing the organogram and giving equal facilities to BFCC employees as provided to the Biman employees, according to UNB.
