Biman employees stage sit-in at Balaka Bhaban

The employees of Biman Bangladesh Airlines started a sit-in programme in front of ‘Balaka Bhaban’, the Biman headquarters, at Kurmitola in the city on Wednesday morning to press home their 14-point-demand. Several hundred employees of the national airlines took position in front of Balaka Bhaban at about 9.00am where they chanted slogan in support of their demands. The sit-in will continue till 12.00pm. The demonstrating Biman employees threatened to go for a tougher movement if their demands were not met immediately. The demands include introducing uniform allowance for them, providing dearness allowance and cent per cent medical allowance, changing the organogram and giving equal facilities to BFCC employees as provided to the employees of the national flag carrier, according to UNB.
