Biman flight makes emergency landing at HSIA

Saturday, 7 February 2015

A Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight, BG-047, with 241 passengers and crew aboard made an emergency landing at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) on Friday. Few minutes after taking off, one of the two engines of the 777-200ER aircraft en route from Chittagong to Dubai experienced an in-flight surge with damage to the engine, forcing the pilot to shut down the engine as per standard practice, an official statement said.  The aircraft landed normally and safely with passengers disembarking the aircraft in the normal way. An alternative aircraft was made available and it took off from HSIA at 3.36 am to Dubai.    — FE Report
