Biman gets acting MD

Captain Sheikh Nasiruddin Ahmed has been made acting managing director (MD) and chief executive officer (CEO) of Biman Bangladesh Airlines following resignation of its present MD.
Nasiruddin, now director of planning of the national flag carrier, will take over by April 25.
A circular issued by Biman Sunday said that Nasiruddin is to take over on April 25 since Zakiul will continue until the date. Zakiul Islam had resigned from the post on April 20 citing personal reason.
Biman board of directors has appointed Nasiruddin after Zakiul in a letter to Biman Chairman Air Marshal (retd) Jamal Uddin Ahmed on April 1 expressed his desire to stand aside.
The Biman board in its meeting on Friday decided to appoint an acting MD until the appointment of a managing director through advertisement in newspapers.
