Biman to drop DC-10 from its fleet

Biman Bangladesh Airlines will permanently drop one of its oldest aircraft DC-10 from its fleet from February 20 while two new aircraft will join the fleet by March. The process of taking lease of two ‘Turbo Prop’ aircraft and hiring of two ‘777-200 ER’ aircraft is underway, Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Rashed Khan Menon told the parliament on Thursday responding to a written question from Nizam Uddin Hazari (Feni-2). The minister said the third and fourth aircraft of the 10 newly procured aircraft from Boeing are expected to join Biman fleet in February and March respectively, according to a news agency.
