Biman to resume Dhaka-Rome flights from Mar 26

Biman Bangladesh Airlines commenced ticket sales on Thursday for its flights on the Dhaka-Rome-Dhaka route, marking the national flag carrier's initiative to resume operations on this route after a nine-year hiatus.
The inaugural flight to Rome is scheduled to take off on March 26, coinciding with Independence Day, according to a statement issued by the airline on Thursday.
Tickets for this route are now available for purchase through all Biman's distribution channels starting from 2:05 pm on February 15.
On December 21, Biman's Managing Director and CEO, Shafiul Azim, announced the resumption of Dhaka-Rome-Dhaka flights after a nine-year hiatus, with the first flight scheduled for March.
From March 26 to March 31, flight BG-355 will depart for Rome from Dhaka every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday.
The flights will leave Dhaka at 2:00 am (local time) and arrive in Rome at 7:00 am (local time). Return flights from Rome will depart at 8:45 am (local time) and arrive in Dhaka at 11:45 pm (local time).
Starting April 1, as per Biman's summer schedule, the flight will depart from Dhaka every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday at 3:00 am (local time), reaching Rome at 9:10 am (local time). Return flights from Rome will depart at 10:45 am (local time) and arrive in Dhaka at 12:30 am (local time).
In celebration of the route's resumption, Biman is offering special discounts on ticket purchases. The Rome flights will be operated with Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft.
Biman's Rome-bound flight initially commenced on April 2, 1981, and was discontinued on April 6, 2015, as stated in the press release.
