Biman\\\'s 1st Hajj return flight delayed

Thursday, 9 October 2014

The 1st Hajj return flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines bringing home some 419 pilgrims from Saudi Arabia has been delayed by four hours. Flight BG-2012 was scheduled to leave Jeddah International Airport of Saudi Arabia at 1:30am on Wednesday. The plane is not expected to reach Dhaka before Thursday afternoon. ‘This is the first return Hajj flight of the current Hajj season. It took us a while to gather all the passengers. This is probably the reason behind the delay,’ said Acting Managing Director of Biman Mosaddek Ahmed. Four other Biman flights are scheduled to bring back the Hajj pilgrims to Dhaka on Thursday and continue doing so on 134 flights until November 8. Almost 50,000 will fly home by the national flag carrier, according to a news agency.
