Biman’s current predicament raises doubts about its Board

Friday, 25 April 2014

The continued huge loss by Biman Bangladesh Airlines in the last couple of years puts the national flag carrier under the question whether this organisation will see any profit again, according to a news agency.
The present predicament of the national flag carrier also raises doubts about the skill and professionalism of the Biman Board of Directors, dominated by civil and military bureaucrats, whether they are capable of running the organisation properly.
The early departure of Biman Bangladesh Airlines’ managing director and chief executive officer Kevin Steele puts the airliner in some uncomfortable situation.
Biman sources said that although Steele cited his physical condition as the ground for his resignation, but the difference of opinion with the Board was one of the reasons behind his early resignation.
