Bindubasini, Armanitola reach quarter-finals

Bindubasini Government High School, Tangail and Armanitola Government High School reached the quarterfinals of the First Security Islami Bank Ltd National School Hockey Tournament beating their respective rivals Wednesday, reports UNB.
In the day's matches at the Moulana Bhasani National Hockey Stadium, Bindubasini beat PM Pilot High School 2-0 while Armanitola outplayed Mohammad Makan High School 7-0 to confirm their quarterfinal berth.
In the day's other matches at the same venue, Kurigram Government High School notched 5-0 victory over Patuakhali Governbment Jubilee School while Police Lines, Dinajpur beat Latif Municipal Seminary 3-0.
Earlier, Rafiquddin Memorial High School, Comilla (Group-A), Khanjarpur High School, Joypurhat (Group-B), Moyejuddin High School, Faridpur (Group-C), JM Sen School and College, Chittagong (Group-D), BAF Shaheen School, Chittagong (Group-E) and Dinajpiur District School(Group-F) confirmed their quarterfinal berth.
Eight group champions qualify for the quarterfinals from 32 teams, across the country.
Quarterfinals:
Moyejuddin HS, Faridpur vs Dinajpiur District School (at 11:00 am, March 19); JM Sen School and College, Chittagong vs BAF Shaheen School, Chittagong (at 3:00 pm, March 19); Rafiquddin Memorial HS, Comilla vs Armanitola Government HS (at 2:00 pm, March 20); Khanjarpur HS, Joypurhat vs Bindubasini Government HS, Tangail (at 4:00 pm, March 20).
The semifinals of the meet will be held on March 22 while the final of the meet is slated for March 23 at the same venue.
