RAJSHAHI, Jan 18: Bio-gas is popular in the villages of Rajshahi. But due to non-cooperation of the BCSIR and banks, many interested people are failing to reap benefit from the easy and pollution-free technology.
Rajshahi district unit of Bangladesh Council for Industrial and Scientific Research (BCSIR) used to set up bio-gas plants under a subsidised project to make the use of bio-gas popular.
About a decade ago, many people set up such plants beside their households and became benefited from those. But, due to lack of supervision and non-cooperation of BCSIR, the projects remained almost suspended.
