Bird catcher sentenced

A bird catcher was awarded six months imprisonment by a mobile court in the Lalmonirhat town Sunday midnight.The convict was identified as Ataur Rahman, son of Wasimuddin of Dupchachia Upazila of Bogra district.Acting on a tip-off, police intercepted a Dhaka-bound DR Paribahan night coach, coming from Burimari border in Patgram Upazila.The law enforcers recovered 166 parrots from the bus and arrested bird catcher Ataur.Later, the mobile court handed down the verdict. - UNB
