BIRDEM hospital cook run over by bus in city

A cook of BIRDEM Hospital was crushed under the wheels of a bus when the conductor pushed him down on the road in the city's Shahbag area Friday afternoon following bargaining over the bus fare, reports UNB.
The deceased was identified as Abdul Mannan (35), son of Ismail.
Witnesses and police said Mannan, on his way to hospital, locked in a brawl with the conductor of the Gabtoli-bound city bus over its fare at about 12:30 pm.
When the bus reached near the hospital, the angry conductor pushed Mannan down from the running bus. Mannan died on the spot as the back side wheels of bus crushed him.
On information, police recovered the body from the spot and sent to Dhaka Medical Hospital College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
Police seized the bus but could not arrest the conductor.
