Birth anniv of poet Abu Zafar Obaidullah today

The 80th birth anniversary of Poet Abu Zafar Obaidullah Khan, the second son of former justice Abdul Jabbar Khan, will be observed today (Saturday).
On the occasion, a discussion will be held at his residence at Baherchar village under Babuganj Upazila of Barisal. Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Rashed Khan Menon will be present at the discussion.
Born in 1934, Obaidullah received BA and MA in English in 1953 and 1954 respectively from Dhaka University and joined as a lecturer at the Department of English, but left teaching to join the Pakistan Civil Service in 1957.
