BJA team attends IJSG meet in Vietnam

A four-member delegation led by Chairman of Bangladesh Jute Association (BJA) Md. Rezaul Karim went to Hanoi, Vietnam to attend the 8th meeting of the Private Sector Consultative Board (PSCB) of International Jute Study Group (TJSG) held on March 17-18, said a BJA press release.
The other members of the delegation were Senior Vice-Chairman SK. Farook Hossain, Vice-Chairman Arzu Rahman Bhuiyan and Advisor of BJA Mahfuzul Hoque.
The Chairman BJA in his speech laid emphasis on declaring raw jute as agricultural product.
It may be mentioned here that during the 7th meeting of the PSCB of IJSG held in Kolkata on August 06-07, 2007, it was noted in the proceeding that on request of the jute producing countries, the Board decided to request the respective governments to declare Jute as agricultural product.
The same idea was reproduced in the meeting of Hanoi, Vietnam.
