BJMC win women\\\'s handball trophy

BJMC clinched the Walton Air Conditioner National Youth (U-19) Women's Handball title beating Panchagarh DSA by 25-13 goal at the Shaheed (Capt) M Mansur Ali National Handball Stadium in the city Tuesday, reports UNB.
The winners led the first half by 15-5 goal. Shirina scored eight goals while Sumi added six for the champions BJMC.
Rahima and Rubina scored four goals each for the runners-up Panchagarh.
Shirina of BJMC was adjudged the best player of the tournament to receive prize money of Taka 5,000 in addition to a rice cooker from Walton.
Bangladesh Olympic Association (BOA) secretary general Syed Shahed Reza witnessed the final match as chief guest and later he distributed the prizes.
Additional Director cum Head of the Games & Sports of Walton FM Iqbal Bin Anwar Dawn, Walton's sports ambassador Zobera Rahman Linu, Chairman of BJMC Major General Humayun Khaled (retd) and general secretary of Bangladesh Handball Federation (BHF) Asaduzzaman Kohinoor were present at the function.
It was chaired by BHF president AKM Nurul Fazal Bulbul.
The champions received prize money of Taka 35,000 while the runners-up got Tk 25,000 in addition to trophies.
In the semifinals last Saturday, BJMC crushed Jamalpur DSA by 24-0 goal while Panchagarh DSA outclassed Naogaon DSA by 19-9 goal.
