BKB, BTB sign MoU to extend tea cultivation in CHT

Bangladesh Krishi Bank (BKB) and Bangladesh Tea Board (BTB) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for extending small-scale tea cultivation in the Chittagong Hill Tracts region.
BKB Managing Director Md Mukter Hussain and Md Mosharraf Hossain of BTB signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organisations at the bank's head office in the city Monday.
Under the MOU, a project titled 'Small Holding Tea Cultivation in Chittagong Hill Tracts' costing Tk 102.9 million (10.29 crore) will be implemented with BKB financing.
Also present at the signing ceremony were BKB General Manager (Operation) Liaquat Ali Khan, DGM (LAD-2) HM Abdul Wadud, AGM (LAD-2) Md Malek Newaz and Chief Public Relations Officer Md Mizanur Rahman, and Bangladesh Tea Board Member (Research and Development) Mohammad Abul Kashem and Co-ordinator M Shahabuddin Mahmud.
