BKB continues trend of loan disbursement, recovery

Bangladesh Krishi Bank (BKB) has geared up the disbursement of rural and agricultural loans in order to boost up agricultural production, said a statement.
To achieve self-reliance in food production, the bank disbursed loan of Tk 30.09 billion during last six months of the current fiscal year 2011 12, which is 50 per cent against the annual target.
During the same period, the bank recovered loans amounting to Tk 23.25 billion which is 44 per cent against the target and higher by Tk 2.96 billion compared to the corresponding period of the last FY.
The bank has targeted more budget which is higher by Tk 8 billion against the annual disbursement target compared to the corresponding period of the last FY.
Krishi Bank has taken all steps to fulfill the target giving emphasis on disbursing loans in crop, fisheries, livestock and SME with other sector.
It is hoped that the bank will be able to cross the annual target coping up with the current trend in disbursement like last FY.
