BKB disburses Tk 732.2m agri loan in Narsingdi

NARSINGDI, July 12 (BSS): Bangladesh Krishi Bank (BKB), Narsingdi region, disbursed Tk 732.20 million (73.22 crore) as agricultural loan among 8,221 farmers through its 21 branches in six upazilas of the district during last fiscal year (FY) 2014-2015.
Official sources said the bank earmarked Tk 700 million for disbursement as agricultural loan in the district for the last FY. But the bank disbursed Tk 32.20 million more than the target fixed by the bank for the region.
The percentage of loan disbursement by the bank in the region stands at 105 per cent on June 30.
Meanwhile, the BKB Narsingdi region in the same fiscal year realised Tk 1.11 billion (111.29 crore) outstanding loan from 9,171 borrowers in the region.
BKB Narsingdi Regional Office sources said the bank has taken a plan for realising Tk 1.09 billion outstanding loans including classified loan in the last fiscal year but the bank realised Tk 24 million more than the target fixed by the bank for the region.
The percentage of loan realised by the bank stands at 102 per cent on June 30.
The BKB official said the bank's Narsingdi region earned profit of Tk 55 million during the FY 2014-2015.
