BKB disburses Tk 8.23b loans in Bagerhat

BAGERHAT, Dec 19 (UNB): Bangladesh Krishi Bank (BKB) has disbursed Tk 8.23 billion (823 crores) loans among the farmers to help recoup the crop losses caused by the cyclone Sidr.
Managing Director of BKB M Fazlul Haque visited its five branches in Sidr-hit areas and disbursed loan among 100 affected marginal farmers.
Sources said the bank disbursed the loans among 1,700 farmers in all nine upazilas of the district. Each farmer was given Tk 5,000 to 0.15 million for crop cultivation, pisciculture and cattle rearing, said a bank official.
