BKB holds Dhaka div managers' conference

Bangladesh Krishi Bank (BKB) held a conference of regional managers, corporate branch managers, regional audit officers, city and district branch managers of Dhaka division Sunday.
BKB General Manager of Dhaka division Azir Uddin Ahmed presided over the programme. Chairman of the bank SA Chowdhury and M Managing Director (MD) Fazlul Hoque were the chief guest and the special guest respectively on the occasion.
Success of ten business targets of 2006-07, sector-wise local disbursement, loan recovery, deposit mobilisation, work-plan to reduce expenses of deposits, work-plan of achieving business targets of 2007-08, techniques of making profitable branches more profitable and converting losing branches into profitable ones were discussed in the conference.
Chairman of the bank said BKB is not only a mere financial institution. The bank bears specific social and national responsibilities in strengthening the national economy, he added. He urged the executives to extend banking services to its clients giving up old ideas and introducing innovative approaches and techniques.
Managing Director advised to invest more in the less disbursed loaning sectors. He reiterated on converting losing branches into profitable ones by making proper profit planning.
In the working session, the MD discussed the current year's business plan to the executives and suggested that they extend all-out efforts in achieving the bank's business targets.
