BKB officers urged to work for poverty alleviation

Newly-recruited Probationary Officers of the Bangladesh Krishi Bank (BKB) have been urged to avail the opportunities of helping alleviating poverty of the rural poor through their devotion and service of the bank, which is the largest government-owned bank primarily dedicated to develop agriculture and agro-based industries.
Chairman of the board of directors of the bank Khondkar Ibrahim Khaled made the appeal while speaking as the chief guest at the concluding function of a Foundation Training Course organised by the bank in the city recently, said a press release.
Principal of the bank's training institute Md Mostafizur Rahman presided over the concluding function while Managing Director of the bank Md Mukter Hussain was the special guest.
In his address, the managing director urged the new-generation officers to devote themselves to the service of the bank with a philanthropic zeal, patriotism, honesty and perseverance.
Among others, Deputy Managing Director Md Joynal Abedin and General Manager of Dhaka Division Md Siddiqur Rahman were present at the concluding function, the release added.
