BKMEA move to attract global companies

Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA) has published "Global Buyers' Information Directory", where relevant buyer's information, tariff structure, product values, economic situation have been accommodated.
Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed was the chief guest in the launching ceremony of the "Global Buyers' Information Directory".
"It also gives important information such as import statistics, lists of importable items, and tariff and non-tariff structures on knitwear and woven garments across the globe," a statement said.
The guidebook-titled 'Global Buyers' Information Directory'-especially holds tips on the trade in the European Union (EU) countries, the United States of America (USA), Latin America, Japan, China, Australia, South Africa, Russia and Caribbean Islands.
The ultimate goal of this unique publication is to facilitate the knitwear sector of Bangladesh to make the sector more competitive in upcoming days with the line of "Vision: 2021".
"To fulfill the goal for attaining middle income country status by 2021 and develop country by 2043, also reach the target of 50 billion export earnings by the readymade garments of Bangladesh, the book is expected to play a key role," the statement added.
