BKMEA urges owners to execute wage scale properly

Knitwear manufacturers and exporters said they are facing problems in implementing the new wage structure due to lack of clear conception among workers on minimum wage.
They said the incidents reported in various media occurred mostly in big factories due to resentment caused by meagre increase of wage in various grades, though the owners are already paying the workers more than the government-declared wage.
Around 70 members of Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA) informed the association of similar wage-related problems during a meeting at the BKMEA office Saturday.
