BKS urges govt to double agri sector budget allocation

Bangladesh Krishok Samity (BKS) has demanded that the government double the allocation to agriculture sector in the next budget.
BKS leaders were speaking at a press conference in the city Thursday. They emphasised food security because Bangladesh cannot depend on handouts for its food supply. They also urged the government to provide quality seeds and fertiliser timely and at fair prices to the farmers. BKS leaders referred to the election manifesto of the government, which included distribution of the 'khas' land and waterbodies among the landless.
