BKSP defeated Dhaka Division South by 8 wickets on the 2nd day of the three-day match of the Young Tigers U-18 National Cricket Competition at Sheikh Jamal Stadium in Faridpur Sunday, reports UNB.
On the day (Sunday), BKSP resumed the first innings with overnight 81 for 6 in 37 overs, but was dismissed for 118 in 59.4 overs.
Abdul Qayum scored 53 runs off 109 balls with five fours and two sixes while Kazi Miad Mohammad (21), Shahanur Rahman (11) and skipper Faisal Imran (10) were the other notable scorers for BKSP.
Anisul Islam claimed three wickets without giving any run in 1.4 overs; Rokibul Islam Raza also captured three wickets for 42 runs while Abdullah Mridha took two wickets for 32 runs.
In reply, Dhaka Div South opened the second innings and were dismissed cheaply for 94 runs in 34.1 overs.
Rokibul Islam Raza scored 42 runs while skipper Anisul Islam, Md Sajid and Khaled Hossain added 19, 14 and 13 runs respectively.
Abdul Qayum claimed five wickets for 39 runs while Shahanur Rahman took three wickets for 30 runs.
Chasing 128 runs to win, BKSP opened the second innings and easily reached the target making 129 runs for 2 in 24.2 overs.
Number two batsman Abbas Musa scored unbeaten 71 runs off 73 balls with 12 fours and two sixes while Mahabub Hasan added 28 runs and Abdul Qayum made unbeaten 27 runs.
Rokibul Islam Raza claimed two wickets for 39 runs in 9 overs.
