BKSP clinch top slot securing 22 gold

Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishthan (BKSP) clinched the top slot in the 23rd National Junior Athletics Championship with absolute supremacy securing 22 gold, 12 silver and six bronze medals Saturday, reports UNB.
Hosts Dhaka Division finished a distant second securing 3 gold, 3 silver and 3 bronze medals while Rajshahi Division was placed third with one gold and one silver in the meet that concluded at the newly laid athletics track at the Bangabandu National Stadium.
Shabnam Nahar Shubhra of BKSP emerged as the fastest woman of the meet winning the gold in 100-meter sprint of under-18 girls.
LGRD Secretary M Nazrul Islam was the chief guest at the closing function of the two-day meet and distributed the prizes.
A total of 305 promising athletes from 41 teams - representing 38 districts, BKSP, and Dhaka and Rajshahi Divisions - competed in the two-day meet for the 40 gold medals at stake.
