BKSP clinch top slot with 17 gold, 15 silver, 3 bronze medals

BKSP clinched the top slot in the 26th National Junior (Age Group) Athletics Competition with absolute supremacy securing 17 gold, 15 silver and 3 bonze medals as the meet concluded Saturday at the Bangabandhu National Stadium in the city, reports UNB.
Kishoreganj DSA finished a distant 2nd collecting three gold, one silver and two bronze medals, Mymensingh and Narayanganj DSAsa became joint third with two gold, one silver and three bronzes; and Narail DSA was placed 4th with two gold, one silver and two bronzes.
Besides, Noakhali, Khulna, Kurigram and Sherpur DSAs, and Bangladesh Postal Department also bagged one gold medal each.
Athletics Federation president ASM Ali Kabir was the chief guest at the closing function and declared the closure of the two-day meet, organized by Bangladesh Athletics Federation. Federation general secretary M Shah Alam was present.
A total of 439 promising athletes representing 50 teams took part in the meet.
Thirty-one events were decided in the two-day meet that concluded Saturday.
