Blame game won\\\'t help : Dr Mizan
Sunday, 4 May 2014
National Human Rights' Commission of Bangladesh Chairman Dr Mizanur Rahman urged the major political parties to stop blame game and take effective measures against murder and abduction, reports bdnews24.com.
Dr Mizan made the appeal while speaking at an event in Barguna Saturday. The ruling Awami League and BNP have blamed each other for the recent abduction and murder of seven people in Narayanganj.
"It will not solve anything if this becomes an issue of political games. Blame game is not a solution," he said.
"People are being abducted, people are disappearing, but we don't see enough measures to ensure their safety. Stop all this. Take effective measures." Mizanur said the government would have to "first identify the criminals within its own ranks".
He advised the prime minister to "keep the sycophants at bay".
"Don't let sycophants isolate you from reality. It is your duty to ensure public safety," he said.
He also criticised BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia's 'organisational red alert' and cautioning the party members to stay alert.
