Blasts in front of BNP HQ

Several improvised bombs have been exploded in front of the BNP's Naya Paltan headquarters minutes before a programme of its student front Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD).
Police say at least four blasts took place on Sunday afternoon.
Two groups of JCD activists have been at loggerheads over its recently announced committee.
Dhaka Metropolitan (south) JCD is scheduled to hold a programme at the Bhasani auditorium in front of the BNP headquarters.
BNP spokesperson Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir is expected to attend the programme as chief guest.
Similar explosions had taken place in front of the BNP headquarters when the new JCD committee was announced several weeks ago, according to a news agency.
