Blenders very active for better liquoring types

Good liquoring teas were again a strong feature with all sections of the market lending useful support. Medium teas witnessed more interest with less withdrawals compared to the last sale. Blenders were again very active particularly for the better liquoring types in the weekly tea auction market held in the port city on Tuesday.
Loose tea buyers lent quite a good support. As a result, prices moved up with less withdrawals this week, according to a statement of Bangladesh Tea Board.
Dusts were a dearer market.
CTC LEAF: AS many as 40,340 packages of Current Season and 190 packages of Old Season Teas on offer met with a strong demand,
BROKENS: Clean liquoring Brokens met with quite a strong demand and were dearer by Tk 10 to Tk 15 and at times more. Their Medium varieties met with an improved demand and were firm to a dearer market. The plainest continued to be strongly competed for and were dearer.
FANNINGS: All good liquoring Fannings once again met with a strong competition particularly the brighter ones. Mediums were a fairly good market and were generally firm to dearer. Plain varieties were again a strong market at dearer rates.
CTC DUST: As many as 6,903 packages of Current Season and 85 packages of Old Season Teas on offer met with quite a strong demand. Select brighter liquoring sorts met with good competition and advanced by Tk 5.0 to Tk 10 following quality.
Medium varieties were steady, at times easier by up to Tk 10 with quite fair withdrawals. Plainer varieties were also firm to slightly dearer with less withdrawals compared to the last sale.
