BNP briefs foreign diplomats on law and order

BNP on Wednesday briefed foreign diplomats in Dhaka on the latest political developments, law and order and human rights situation, mainly secret killings and forced disappearances, in Bangladesh. The meeting was held at a Gulshan restaurant in the city. Asked about meeting BNP vice chairman Shamsher Mobin Chowdhury told reporters that it was part of their regular meeting with the diplomats. BNP international affairs secretary Asaduzzaman Ripon said a BNP delegation interacted with diplomats from nearly 38 countries following the growing incidents of killings, abductions and forced disappearances, including Narayanganj seven murders. The BNP delegation included its acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, vice chairman Shamsher Mobin Chowdhury, chairperson’s advisers, Sabihuddin Ahmed, Reaz Rahman, Dr Osman Farroque, international affairs secretary Asaduzzaman Ripon and journalist Shafique Rahman, according to a news agency.
